Network Administator 01-22-2018, 05:53 AM

What's up guys,
So I enlisted active duty, into the United States Marine Corps and shipped out to bootcamp on August 7, 2017.
I've been through MCT, and now I'm at MOS school.
My MOS is a rather new MOS, which is 0631 Network Administrator.
If what I've been told by my peers and higher ups, we'll be in charge of creating servers to withhold every device needed to communicate effectively for the mission and maintain them.
We haven't been told anything that we'd be taught specifically, what programs we'd be using, what text books etc.
So my question is, is there any Military or Civilian Network Administrators that know the basics of Administrating networks, what programs I should learn how to use now so I am ahead of the class, if there's any online textbooks that would benefit me, or just any advice.
Feel free to share your experiences if you want.

Spoiler:
Network Administrators install operate and maintain Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) to enable command and control. Typical duties include routing/switching configuration, premise wiring, installation of network components. They establish technical control sites, conduct fault analysis, circuit testing and end to end troubleshooting. Additional responsibilities include, network monitoring and Quality of Service (QOS) to maintain adequate bandwidth utilization in support of communication networks and data services. Network Administrators will maintain records on activation/deactivation of communications links and maintenance actions performed. Marines will be familiar with routing protocols, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Internet Protocol Security (IPSEC), subletting, traffic monitoring and cybersecurity.
