Need some help

So I have a web app what I need some help with.
I need to add something to the admin CP which is PHP.
What I need it to do:
1. Be able to write a new line to a .txt file with a text box.
Example:
A admin inputs the text into the text box.
They press save
It then adds it onto a new line in the txt file

I don't know much about coding, but you'd have to write a code that could access the sever file and then overwrite the old one after the save, I googled this a little bit and found this link could help you.

You would need a PHP file which would use the fopen() or whatever function to open the file once submitted and use the write function to append the value of the textbox to the text file then close the stream.

I tried their methods and it didn't update each time.

Did you check to make sure the folder the files in and the file it's self is 777 on presmissions?

Currently do not use skype or any other IM services.

I'm using aschool laptop so I can't
Beside I told you I have little to no PHP knowledge, I couldn't help to much.
