Need information about label editing 12-24-2022, 09:56 PM
#1
Hey, I got a label from such courier as itella and the label contains a barcode and near it is a word EDI. I google it and it's something to do with online store integration. The main question is that if I delete it, the package would be still taken and sent to the warehouse? Because the main bar code lets the package be put into the pack station and I think it would be sent, but still don't know if EDI is needed or not.
P.S EDI barcode is not the main barcode. EDI barcode is on a right up corner of the label. The main barcode is on the middle of the label.

https://developer.bring.com/files/Appendix_F.pdf
according to these documents, the code contains at least the RoutingServiceCode, it is necessary for the delivery of the package
I see that it is Finnish and there is very little information on the internet, 2 points you should remember:
1. you must delete all the information about the package and keep only the bare minimum
2. if you delete essential information, the label may be reprinted and the FTID will fail
you can try to scan the code with a QR code reader on your phone and hope that it is not encrypted, if it is not, you can even modify it and remove your personal information
it is an effective technique but it is essential to know how it works otherwise it will lead to failure
Thanks for the information you found, I will keep it then. I did scan the barcodes with different scanners. But I don't get much information from them, for example: the main barcode come up with the tracking number that was below the barcode. The EDI code I scanned come up with a code that is written also below the barcode itself, so nothing useful to edit. Also, the label destination is written to be a logistical terminal near me.

What sites/software are you using for editing QR codes?
•
https://barcode.tec-it.com/en (Barcodes)
•
https://barcode.tec-it.com/en/MaxiCode (MaxiCodes for UPS etc)
•

There are a few, there many more if just google. But had problems with EDI barcode editor for itella labels. You need to make a phyton script, had not very luck with it.

Thanks. Maybe LIT or just plain DNA?
The order is about a month old. They have 100 day return policy, so that's why I'm doing it. Also, it is just for fun. The value of order is quite low.

100 day policy?! The most I have seen is 60 days recently. I guess they assume that after a certain period, people will forget or not bother meaning that if it is 60 days or 100 it doesn't result in a much higher return rate but does give a good impression to potential customers.
It depends on the country and where are you living, every Zalando could be different, but when I was looking for the same shoes around all zalandos in Europe nearby, everyone didn't have them, not only the one in my country.
