Need help with truecrypt 02-06-2014, 01:32 AM
#1
My friend recently sent me a ebook on how to properly make myself anonymous online. The first step on this list is using truecrypt to encrypt my computers HDD. I have been trying to find a tutorial on how to do this but most them I find might as well be in a foreign language. Can anyone help me out with this I am new to all this so i am looking for a tutorial that is easy to understand. Thanks in advance.
Or if anyone has suggestions on a different program that does the same thing and could help it would be much appreciated.

Have you checked to see if your computer/hard drive has built in support for encryption? on my last couple of computers it was only a matter of going into the BIOS and setting a password on the hard drive. make sure its actually hdd encryption though and not just a boot password.

Ive only had laptops for the last 10 years or so, so thats all im familiar with as well. And its usually just a setting when you log into the BIOS. theres many different BIOS software so I cant say exactly what it will be, some sort sort of HDD encryption reference will be made if its available im sure. probably under Disk settings.

The program I was using was compatible with my HDD although I do not see it necessary anymore. Gonna try to get my ip hidden with a VPN tonight.
