Yes they have released multiple videos on their channel about it.

I have heard a few things about it but it is supposed to come out in like 2018 or something.

It will be a long time before it comes out since 1.8 was only released around last year so it could be a long wait for us. I personally can't wait for it as it's going to be responsive by default which is just amazing as there will be no need for a seperate mobile theme and it will have many built-in features that everyone has asked for

Yes, the default theme will be responsive, and there will be a lot of cool new features, like alerts, conversations, etc.

Imo 1.8 is good enough. Of course 2.0 will be better, but not sure if it's gonna be vulnerability free or a damn vulnerability fest.
