The package has to be dropped off, it waits for collection, it gets collected by the courier, it goes to a warehouse, sorted from there and onto one or several intermediatery shipping points before it is out for delivery or returned.
Exactly.
This is why a package showing instant delivery on the same day it was dispatched doesn't make sense imo.

Was on hold for about 20 minutes and the refund was issued. Surprised it worked with no issues. Like @mothered said, it's probably more miss than hit, but I can say it worked for me. I referred to instant delivery.

If you know something about courier processes, it does not make sense.
you can do pick up scan, you can do delivered scan all the things between are just thigns that customer support is not looking for while issueing the refund but it is fine, that you don't want to accept new conveniences in refunding
customer support do and can check such things. Seeing instant delivery would give an aware rep red flags, not everyone working in customer support are imbeciles.
I don't want to accept? You must be young or very sensitive, if you can't be challenged or answer questions without giving a retort/insult.
If you were professional you would see it as an opportunity to disprove/explain a question and thereby raise trust with anyone reading your answer.
