Some successes and a couple of spectacular failures!

I haven't posted anything since my very first one in January so thought I'd give an update for anyone interested.

I read anything and everything I could find - including @mothered's blog, old posts on here and even Bob's v5 ebook (sorry @mothered !) etc. I researched companies and carriers t&c's and returns policies.

Following all this, I managed to rescue the apparent failed ftid I'd originally asked for advice on - gave them spiel about having been very, very ill with covid and couldn't find my original returns info. Even tho it was outside the returns window, I got a new label and boxed it using some warehouse supplies I'd bought cheaply to match the weight.

Since then I've successfully SE'd, for myself, a camera from Amz (wrong item in box for which they sent me a lovely apology letter plus gave me £5 credit on my account); 2 vacs from a well known company associated with sea creatures and Japanese warriors (FTID kept one and sold one); Debenhms perfumes and aftershaves (DNA kept some, sold some); carrot cake and creme eggs!

For others - clothes/trainers/bags from Mr Porter, JD, Adidas, Nike, River Island, Burberry, Tessuti using a mixture of PEB, EB, FTID, DNA - some I did myself, some I paid someone £20 to do labels; electronics/homeware from Amz, vacs and small kitchen appliances such as air dryers from above mentioned company, again using a mixture of methods. All successful UNTIL .....

We come to my epic failures! The aforementioned company to do with sea creatures and Japanese warriors (sorry to be so cagey but I'm very paranoid about giving away too much in case there's spies or algorithms collating my information!) closed their warehouse for a week when 2 returns were in progress - one for vacs and one for kitchen stuff. Rumour on Telegram had it that they'd got the fraud team in. Of course, these 2 returns had to be FTIDs proving @mothered's misgivings. But, not to be deterred, I'm pushing on regardless and am involved in an ongoing battle with them involving GDPR and consumer rights and things. I don't believe (am probably wrong) that they have an "official" fraud team, rather an admin team put together to investigate all the warehouse shortages, or that they know for sure an empty envelope was sent.  So I'm going to continue pushing until I can push no more! Btw their customer service is awful!

I originally got into this to help me out at a particularly bad time but I am now well and truly hooked! I don't seem to be able to look at anything without seeing SE possibilities.

So that's my story so far - sorry it's so long. I've got a couple of more things going at the moment that I don't know the outcome of yet so fingers crossed. And I'm thinking of upping my game and branching out a bit ....maybe they'll be a part 2 of my story to come.

Thankyou so much to this forum and in particular @mothered

You're most welcome.

You did very well with researching your targets, formulating your methods and (where warranted) pursing other avenues to ensure a successful outcome. Thanks for sharing your experience.
