I was thinking of SE a monitor and would like to know which company would be the best to try it with.

What I have in mind is to buy the same model of monitor I am currently using and swap it out with my current (now broken) monitor.

My question is whether the retail will check the serial number or service tag number on the back? My current monitor is a Dell brand.

I've also read a few threads on calling dell with active warranty monitors. If I go this route, can I send back a monitor with different service tag aka my current monitor that has expired warranty. Will they backbill me?
