Realistically, they couldn't have done anything apart from kill the animals which, the casual visitor can't.


The confusing part of all this, is the reporting. People are saying he jumped over the fence into the enclosure, which doesn't make sense (Man can jump over a fence into enclosure but a tiger that can jump 3-4m never got out?), other sources are saying he fell into the enclosure, but it seems the visitor area is on the same level and not from above.

Whatever the fuck happened, he deserved. He wanted to save money for the ticket by entering the zoo without paying. So he figured he would climb and jump in the enclosure. Then his deserving fate was met with death. I can't believe they shot the tiger...

That's pretty sad. When there isn't a proper fence I think there should be personel avaiable alongside the area. Especially with animals like Tigers, Lions or other deadly animals.

I couldn't Imagine the pain here went through leading to his death. If you notice one scene, he's actually trying to fend the tiger off by kicking It and pushing It away. The poor guy had no hope.

Since I don't know the true story behind it, I won't make judgments about how he got into the enclosure. Zoos are getting a lot of bad press right now (perhaps rightly so?). There was the harambe story and now this. Does anybody know the reason the animals were shot? It's easy to assume but I'd like to know what the actual policies are for this.

Perhaps these events will encourage zoos etc to invest in barriers that will stop people from getting/falling/being grabbed in by animals and vice versa.

On a side note, why the hell is somebody filming that? I won't watch it because I really don't want that burned in my memory. (I'm actually now slightly afraid of elephants thanks to a similar kind of video with elephants killing people.)

I certainly agree that there should (or perhaps do) have protocols In place for scenarios like this.

What I don't understand, Is why the zoo keepers took so long to act. In terms of the tigers being shot, this was a life-threatening situation and given every second counts, I think It was the appropriate course of action. Tranquilizers (depending on the dosage), can take some time to Immobilize- particularly If It lands In the muscle and then enters the bloodstream.
