RE: MacBook Help #3

I definitely don’t want to use the device and also don’t want to sell it, as I don’t want this to become a huge issue later on. I was thinking of buying a new one from Amazon, and then maybe short circuit the one I have or destroy it in some other way, and then swap the base plates that have the Serial engraved. Do you think this will work out and I get a clean Mac or is it better to just part it out and sell it that way.
I was also thinking of maybe using it to trade in, but that will probably result in the same risks as just selling it to some random person.

Destroying the hypothetical Mac to send it back sounds like a horrible idea that could easily backfire.

I think this depends heavily on where you acquired it - if it's from any 3rd party reseller, it's completely fine as Apple is unaware anything went wrong. If it's from Apple, it could potentially maybe possibly cause some issues, but still unlikely. Anyways, if I were you, I'd just use it and not worry too much about it.
