Online gaming sure is bigger than it used to be. I've been exploring some of the MMORPG games that are available but I'm not sure which one to jump into. World of Warcraft isn't for me and I kept getting killed by people when I tried Conan. They really hate newbies there. lol. Any suggestions for a good one?

Runescape , if you play minecraft there are servers that mmorpg and mod pack that is to. My mod pack consist of mmorpg mod and some other things.

Yeah RS is great. Private Servers are fun if you find the right ones but I still perfer paid membership on the real RS. I don't paly it atm but I probably will go back to it sometime this or next year.

+ Good lore, engaging quests, casual (in the good sense of the word), atypical classes.
- Extensive and expensive cash shop, PVP is lacking.

Eve Online

+ Sandbox, cool setting (politics, corporations, space war, etc), scamming is not against the rules (a + for me ), very mature and intelligent community, complexity
- Hard to get into, constantly in a spaceship, a lot of botting, complexity, tends to attract sociopaths and narcissists

Ragnarok Online

+ Wide range of customization options, fun PVP, a lot of content, open-minded community
- Graphics, no real professions or trade-skills, hardcore droprates

Check some of the NCSoft games, I used to play Lineage 2, was the best pvp/farm game ever created.
No other game had such a perfect mechanic and design.
Nowadays it isn't that great, but still good.
It's made by the creators of Guild Wars, Tera, Aion..

Runescape I think would be a great start to the MMORPG experience, if you don't want to pay anything.

I believe Runescape would be great starting MMORPG for you if you don't plan on paying. Then you could move on to Minecraft and such once you are willing to pay.

I wouldn't technically consider Minecraft an MMORPG. It's only a MMORPG if you want it to be.

It's a start though if you find the right server.

RuneScape and WoW are the only ones I've plated. I prefer WoW because of the graphics and general badassery.
