Well many people think that the one way to remove a background from an image is by using one of the few selection tools located in the tool bar. Today I will be sharing with you the easiest way to remove a solid background.

First get your image, I will be using this one today.


So the first step is to press select on the top of the screen, then on the drop down menu press "Color Range..."

A screen like this should come up, do not change any of the settings.


Using the paint grabber tool that is now automatically selected, click anywhere on the background you are trying to remove, then press ok.

Your image should now look something like this.


Now select the Grab tool on the top of the toolbar, hover over your selected area and click and drag it out of the image.

You should now have something like this.

This is pretty cool, but if you have access
to a Photoshop file like that, shouldn't you
just remove the back layer and save as gif
or png?

This tutorial would've been better if you used
a more complex image, like a tiger in the desert
or something

That depends on the picture, if the color ranges are closer to each other then the Magic Wand will remove more than you want.
