The objective Is to either convince them not to send the Item, or dispatch It via a non-tracking service.
His response: "OK ,thank you for the update. Our tech says ground shipping is ok for this issue."

This is the email I sent out. I read that Lithium-Ion batteries emit a sweet/chemical-y smell when punctured and are fairly toxic if inhaled or if the laptop is charged or used. So, I plan on using that to my advantage. "I asked the same FedEx office again if they could ship it and they still denied me, stating the same reason as before... I also went to UPS and they too denied shipping this, I haven't had the chance to ask USPS though. I can try a different FedEx office and see what the result is. The electronic store that I gave this to before told me to be careful handling this laptop too. It was emitting this strange, slightly sweet, chemical-y smell and they mentioned that this type of battery gives off a specific smell if they begin to leak and is dangerous if left like it is. Even the postal workers took note of the smell too... With the battery in this state, I'm very nervous moving this thing around. Would it be possible to ship it without the battery? Or do you need the whole laptop?"

If he agrees with my suggestion to remove the battery, my plan is to say that I cannot remove the battery even after suggesting it. I plan to say something along these lines: "I tried to remove the battery but there's a screw at the bottom of the battery that isn't coming out, no matter how hard I try. Maybe the swelling of the battery lodged the screw in weird or messed up the screw hole. I don't want to force it out because I might accidentally puncture or damage the battery further and have some sort of accident." I hope he goes in this direction because it seems like this might be nearing the end. I'll either suggest that USPS can accept the laptop or he'll stop me from trying to send the laptop in altogether.

EDIT: It's been about an hour and he responded with: "We need the machine to check it. It would be preferred to have the battery if this is source of issue." So, tomorrow, I will say that USPS is willing to ship the laptop but either fail to mention that it has tracking or say that the package doesn't have a tracking number.

Their following reply works to your advantage.
Quote:"It would be preferred to have the battery if this is source of issue."

The carrier will not accept the condition of the battery as stated, so If all else fails, keep hitting them with this.
Alright, will update everyone on the response tomorrow.

The rep hasn't responded in about a day, after I sent this email, "Okay, I'll keep the battery with the laptop. I was able to pop into a USPS store before going back to work yesterday and they also denied the shipment of the laptop, mentioning the exact same reasons as the other two stores. I will try the last FedEx shop near me and see if they are more lenient than the others." I plan to respond with, "There are no carriers that are willing to ship this laptop and it seems that it's condition is getting worse and worse. I'm not sure what else I can do at this point with the battery, this is ridiculous." Or should I say that a USPS store is willing to accept the package and say that it cannot be tracked or they didn't provide the package with a shipping number.

I read that people who have tried to SE Lenovo were hard stuck because they insisted on having the laptop first before sending out a laptop, what should I do if they are still hesitant to send out this laptop? At this point, I think the only option, if the battery route fails, is to say that it shipped with USPS and it was "delivered" or something. @mothered

Try not to draw a conclusion by overthinking the SE.

The next course of action, Is based on their response so wait for It and tackle It thereafter.

Yeah, guess I am getting ahead of myself. This was his response today: "Please send me photos on the machine and battery. I need a photo of the serial # tag as well." Should I just keep corrupting the files?

Corrupt the files and see how they respond to It.

Be sure to keep sending them In a different file format, and tell them It's working fine on your end. This gives the Impression that you're doing your utmost best to resolve the matter.

I have a legitimate photo of the person's Lenovo box, it looks like a photo that I could've taken. Do you think I could sneak in a legitimate photo with the corrupted files or just straight corrupted files? Maybe add to the legitimacy of my claim, but I'm not too sure.

I've not SEd Lenovo before but other smaller companies and used the excuse "I'm sorry, my phone is broken so that's probably why it's not taking photos right.. Here's a photo I managed to take before it broke" and it's worked.

That's actually pretty smart, but I've already sent him corrupt photos before and used the excuse that I can see it on "multiple devices". I want to give the impression that it's his only on his end or something's happening partway through the image arriving.

I was fortunate enough to acquire a serial number of a fairly high-end laptop, looking to potentially snag a free one. I read up on how others played this scenario out and it seems either the DNA method or claiming it was faulty, was how they succeeded. Preferably gonna do the latter, as it seems the least involved. Any tips on how to go about this?
like thank u

Are you suggesting to send the legit Image "plus" the corrupted file?

If so, what will you say that the corrupted file (seemingly) contains?
