Do you think I could sneak in a legitimate photo with the corrupted files or just straight corrupted files? Maybe add to the legitimacy of my claim, but I'm not too sure.

Are you suggesting to send the legit Image "plus" the corrupted file?
If so, what will you say that the corrupted file (seemingly) contains?
Then the non-corrupted file will be of the serial number on the Lenovo box that I grabbed from the original owner. I have multiple corrupted photos/pdf's at the ready; two corrupted photos and three corrupted pdf's. But I was thinking, if a single photo wasn't corrupted, would that help my legitimize my case? On the other hand, if I send strictly corrupted photos, it will be cemented that I cannot send any photos and maybe he'll give in and just send the laptop.

That will be the only photo that isn't corrupted, if he asks for it again, I will send it corrupted. Maybe to give the impression that it was just a stroke of luck?
