I've been looking into this for quite some time, but can't really justify doing it myself. After reading it all, one question comes to mind that maybe someone here can answer; Why should you stop an investigation as quickly as possible? The way I see it, if your package was stolen off your front porch and you're requesting a refund, would you bite the bullet and lose your money because the rep wants to investigate it? I'd say do whatever you need to do/I don't have anything to hide/ sort of mindset.
I've used amazon for a while legitimately, prime and all, so should I truly be concerned about an investigation if it were to happen? Or does investigation=auto ban/no refund (my concept from the reading)? I feel like if I'm going to try, I need to go big or go home as I've used only a couple accounts in 3+ years of amazon with no refunds without a returned item.
