So I got this laptop but it's something wrong with it.
When i turn it on it looks fine

Then the screen starts doing this

and finally goes all this.


What could the problem be? Can i fix it myself? or naah

If your laptop has a vga or hdmi port, try to connect to another screen to see if the problem is the laptop screen or the graphic card. From the picture it looks like your laptop screen ribbon cable is loose or damaged.

More than likely the cable is loose from being shaken around while it was owned. get a screw driver and take the laptop apart carefully, then find the cable that is super thin that attaches to the monitor and try and push it further into the socket then put the laptop back together. If that doesn't fix it, the cable is damaged or the graphics card is messed up which at that point you'll have to take it to a repair shop. There is also the possibility of slight water damage.

This Is on the assumption that It's an Issue with the cable.

Generally speaking, If It's an LCD screen, most likely It will have 2 cables. For LED screens, It should only have the one. Try connecting then disconnecting the cable(s). If that doesn't work, replace the cable(s). If the problem's still persists, there will be a process of elimination scenario between the VC and the monitor Itself.
