Hey guys, long time to no post.

I bought a 500 usd worth LG monitor and I was thinking would it be possible to use it to SE for another one? I tried searching, but I found no posts regarding anyone trying to SE them.

Any help is appreciated

RE: LG SE #2
As with every SE, always research the company's terms prior to moving forward. This will provide a foundation to work with.

It most certainly Is possible, by claiming It's damaged.

LG's policy:
Quote:What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged?

Contact LG Order Support as soon as you notice damage to your product. There are time limits to report damage to shipped products in order to be eligible for refunds, and refunds are not approved if damage is reported outside of these time frames. In most cases where a product is reported damaged or defective we will do our best to remediate the product, or accept a return if remediation is not possible

Source.

The operative word In their policy Is "remediate". In other words, to correct the Issue without requesting Its return. All this depends on when you paid for the monitor. What's the exact date of purchase?

Great find. I bought it exactly 19 days ago, do you think it's still possibly? I'm thinking about lying that I received it as a gift or is the timeferame still small enough that I can actually say that I bought it 19 days go? thanks for the help.

You're welcome.

Their policy states that "damaged Items" should be reported within 5 business days, and eligibility for refunds are 15 calendar days after delivery. Both of which you've exceeded the time frame. However, as with every SE, policies can be circumvented and of course, reps can be manipulated.

In terms of the former (reported within 5 business days), they have a phone & email contact- which the latter (email) can be used to your advantage. Simply say that you've emailed them a couple of times, and you've yet to receive a reply.

As such, this will explain why you've waited (and still waiting) 19 days for a refund, thus they cannot argue their 15 day policy In their defense. Be sure to express your frustration In a firm, yet polite manner.

Another option is you may be able to call your CC company and do a chargeback/insurance claim if you bought it via CC and your company has such insurance

Agree.

A chargeback however, should be used as a backup when all else fails.

Agreed. I haven't used one in a long time. Simply because the stakes are higher and it is a polciy that can be taken away a lot easier so it's not one you want to use often.

Absolutely.

Unlike companies that can be SEd and manipulated quite a number of times, payment systems have stricter policies, thus their flexibility Is also restricted. I don't perform chargebacks too often and the times I do, I'm very selective with the claim- Its nature and value must be well worth the effort.
