Just got my refund confirmation from Walmart. Did SB on a Samsung SSD. Carefully peeled off the seal, took the ssd out, put some paper back in the box, and simply sealed it back up and initiated a return online. Got refund confirmation within 2 days it arrived. One thing, is there a chance that someone could complain and the item would get traced back to me and could they could rebill me?

This is what I thought would be the issue with sealed box, did you use your real info?

Certainly possible, but unlikely, given that the box was sealed. You can argue that you returned the sealed box, you had no idea what was inside. Besides, its passed through multiple hands before and after your return. Although I would not recommend putting random piece of paper inside. You would protect yourself better by printing out 2 or 3 copies of the manual and folding it in there or something to make it more believable.

The forum is going downhill.

I have many SEs I would like to share with other contributors. Unfortunately, that is a very small percentage of the overall community, and getting smaller by the day. I have no incentive to contribute publicly and reward the undeserving. If you feel the same and would like to discuss privately, please reach out.
