Anyone purchased an iphone 12 pro max and a iphone 12 pro max dummy off Amazon then returned the dummy in the sealed iphone packaging?

The objective of the sealed box method Is to not show signs of tampering and when they receive the return, they'll place It back Into stock (without checking Its contents) and Issue a refund thereafter.

As such, you can substitute the original Item with basically anything you like- of equal weight.

I’ve done it twice now but with identical phones that were both iCloud locked I’d bought off eBay. So the weight was the same and if they did open it they’d ssd it’s the same phone. Obviously I won’t actually know if it’s been opened or not when they receive it back so always a a bit worried about doing it with a dummy as they’ll see straight asay it’s not real

I fully agree.

That's also my concern with every sealed box method- If the return Is opened, regardless of what Item was substituted, It will fail. For this reason alone, It's paramount to not demonstrate "any signs of Inconsistencies" with the packaging. Unless they have reason to, companies don't usually open boxes sealed by the manufacturer, otherwise It will render the Item a second-hand unit.

Try put urself into a service representatives position, you recieve back a box that appears to still be sealed, do you break the seal to check the content within, your answer might be biased because when you realise what you are doing you think everyone else knows aswell, or can figure it out.
i assume most people would play along as it is just another day at the office. Imagine you breaking a sealed box, which is their "guarantee" that the contents within havn't been posessed up until that moment. Ain't no "low level" service reps breaking no god damn seals :-)
