Introduction and apology #1
So I'm really bad with people and am normally too scared to say anything anywhere. I'm sorry if I seem incomprehensible, or if I don't respond to things right away.

So, erm. Hi there. I'm No Guard. This is the first hacking community I'm posting in. You all seem nice.

Skillset: I know basic C++, and my SQL and HTML is much like my German: I can understand, but boy do I stumble when articulating. UNIX is slowly improving, and PHP is still untouched; will be going to school in network security this July, so I'm hoping this will change coon.

It's nice to meet you all.

Postscript: There may be a typo on rule 22. It's 'hacking attempts' and not 'attemps', no?

Hey there, @"No Guard'.
Welcome to HackCommunity!

If you don't mind me asking, why exactly are you scared to post anywhere? It's not like we're going to hack you or anything. Trust me when I say that this is a very clean, friendly community. I'm not saying that we don't have our faults, but it's definitely a community you can feel safe and sound in.

I'm glad to hear you read the rules, too. I find that with most new members they don't actually take the time to read the rules until told so by someone who's welcoming them. Also, bluedog's aware of the spelling error in the rules, I just don't think he cares enough about the type to update it. This is an issue that I pointed out when the rules were last updated/modified.

Anyway, if you have any questions or concerns then feel free to shoot me a PM (you need 5 posts to send PMs) and I'll help you to the best of my ability. I hope to see you around HC more often in the near future! Biggrin

Short and clean version: I had a stalker in a safe community once and things got ugly. Double checking user info and lurking's been my modus operandi since.

So... the typo isn't a hidden test to see if newbies read the rules? I'm a little disappointed. Tongue

I think I'll stick around here.

Hey! Welcome to the community! That's awesome you already know C++, I've been trying to learn for a while but never really wrapped my head around it. Nice to meet 'ya!

It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.
