The CPU I was doing (i9-10900k) was either a refund or get a replacement in Chinese packaging, had to sign a document stating I was ok with that. Not sure if they'll have me send it back or not, just a bit confused as they haven't mentioned anything about sending it back in a bit, but if they require it, I can pretty much do it by sending an empty package. Will keep you guy's updated
Good approach with sending an empty package.
Wait for their further Instructions. They should advise on the requirements.

just got a response a few hours ago but just now got time to post about it. they do want me to "send it back", but like I said, i'm going for the empty package method. I think for that I should wait about 14 days before contacting them if they don't end up contacting me, correct, or is there a better way of going about that?

Yes, under the circumstances, that's the best approach.

There are no hard and fast rules.
Contact them a week later and ask how your claim Is progressing.

I am currently trying the Intel SE again, last time didn't work out as I couldn't get to the Drop Box in time. I was just wondering if anyone has tried recently and succeeded? Just want to see if anyone has tried it yet to confirm if it's still working or not. Either way I'm still going through with it to try it for myself.
So you succeded in using the SN method against the manufacturer? Dang, duely noted, that is a job well done
