Install .ipa & .deb files (iPhone) #1
Hello HC, I'm writing a newbie friendly iOS tutorial on how to install ipa and deb files to your iDevice. The good thing about this is that it's all done from your iDevice, so no computer needed. This is very useful in case you want to downgrade an app to an earlier version since iTunes won't let you, for example I had an app from AppStore that I updated to the newer version and it had many bugs rendering it almost useless, so with this method I reverted back to the working version, or say you love an app but your firmware is too old for the new version? Well this lets you install an earlier version of the app. Or say your Cydia is having issues and you can't use it to install a deb you want, well you can install it with this method. And there's plenty more reasons. This is my first ever tut so it's not going to be a good one, and most of you probably know this but just in case you don't, here it is.
What you need:
1) A jailbroken iDevice
2) Appsync- from cydia
3) iFile- from cydia
4) Safari Download Manager

Safari Download Manager- from cydia

Now, both those apps are paid but there are trial versions on both of those. Now that you have those two apps on your device all you have to do is go into safari and just google the ipa or deb you want, when you find the thing you need when you get to the "download" button safari download manager will give you some options, just choose the "downloads" folder. Once complete go into iFile and navigate to the chosen destination, (downloads folder) and press on the ipa or deb file and choose "installer". If all goes well you'll now have that ipa or deb on your springboard or system. A respring might be necessary for the icon to show on your springboard. Thanks for reading and sorry for the poor tut, I wanted to make it as simple as possible.

I just download the .ipa and use AppCake to install it.

That's great also, but this method allows for mp3's, mp4's, and .deb files. (=
