Not only did they assemble the computers from trash parts, but they connected to the internet!
Doesn't end there though. Once on the internet...

The prisoners accessed the internal records of other inmates, created inmate passes for restricted areas, accessed websites with information about manufacturing drugs, weapons, and explosives, and apply for credit cards under another prisoner's name for a planned tax fraud scheme, Ohio's government watchdog said.

That's some pretty crazy stuff.

If you have enough e-waste, eventually you will find all the parts you need.

Once you get that, its just like building any computer.

Yeah, assembling a computer isn't that impressive.

Next time you build a computer in the prison ceiling and then connect it to the internet, let me know.

A lot of people discourage inmates for being idiots, but most people in prison or confinement areas like jail, rehab, et cetera, have nothing except time, and most of them read books and other things that boost intelligence or further development.

This is kind of cool to see that people in prison were able to do such a task though, with limited resources where as some people on the outside can't do these things with an arsenal of things at their disposal.

Well at least they created TOR exit nodes

Code:

Besides this, the forensics team also found "self-signed certificates, Pidgin chat accounts, Tor sites, Tor geo exit nodes, ether soft, pornography, videos, VideoLan, virtual phone, and other various software."

They make all of those sound like illegal shit. (Which it's not)

Those guys shouldnt be in prison. Their talents are wasting away.

[Bloody Eye]

At least they managed to download some porn.

[Oni]

Looks like they took advantage of their situation. They must not have been monitored much if they managed to use it that often.

Yeah, none of those things are illegal
