Is this still a valid method?

Some companies, like Amazon and Mediamarkt, (allegedly) open every returned sealed box. I don't target them for this reason. But opening every returned sealed box is slow and costly, and seems impractical at scale. I don't see how any company that doesn't have the logistical resources of Amazon could do it for every package.

My own experience is with local companies and they mostly just accept the return. My guess is that if there's nothing obviously wrong with the package, they won't bother opening it.

Edit: To be clear, the seals have to be 100% absolutely identical to the original seals. Otherwise you might as well give it up.

Steam might be enough to loosen the glue, yes. Acetone might damage the sticker, but you'd have to replace it with a new seal sticker anyway so that's not too bad. The problem really is the surrounding cardboard. It's really prone to warping, and you can see any discrepancies from a mile away. I gave up on removing the seals themselves, working on a different technique now.

Just found some on aliexpress. That's pretty smart.

Keep me updated. I have a pretty steady hand and lots of patience. I've SE'd AMD cpus a couple times from Amazon with a needle, alcohol and some exacto knife's. I got the idea from this video made by the locksmith lawyer.

Any update on this? Going to try SB Iphone 16 Dummy/Seals online at either Ebay with Paypal or Bestbuy for Unlocked. Any tips would be greatly appreciated Smile

Without going into great detail - if you're able to seal the box to perfection, most dealers will refund you. I don't know what the current situation is with Bestbuy, if they open seals or not.
