How to start successful Web Based Projects

Another one of my tutorial is here to help you get your web based project get a kick start and become successful with them.
First of all internet is a place where you can find variety of users searching for different things. You need to go for a thing that you are best with and you will like to tell your people about.
So for example you are good with gaming than go for a gaming related project
If you are good with networking, go with networking related project, the thing you know most is the thing that you will make profit from. Remember this.
Now coming to the point first of all i will like to tell you how you should start and how you need to become successful. This thread is not about how to design websites, SEO etc. For that you can refer to my other threads as i have posted lots in past.
First of all you need to research that what you are going to start is having any search volume or not. So use the google keyword planner to know about the project you are working on. For example i started a project last year and it was a proxy site. The amount of search volume it had was 1 million so that is a good thing. You should also think about the revenue model of your site, like are you going to use adsense or direct sales of product. When you have estimated what you want to achieve than go to next step. Remember this that you should have a clear goal of what you are going to do.
When you have decided what project you are going to work on than you need to get a website for your project as that is going to be your identity,
Search on Google for how to make website. You will need a domain, hosting and a script to run your website. Some of the scripts i will recommend are
1. Wordpress for Blogging
2. Joomla or Drupal for Content Management system
3. Glype for proxy related projects.
4. themeforest for website designs (Paid)
5. Codecanyone for miscellaneous scripts (Paid)
6. MyBB, PhpBB, IPB(Paid) for forum software
Hire a freelancer if you have specific requirements, but most of the above can do everything for you.
Installing the above and setting than up is really easy and you can always start with a free script and after sometime you can go for a paid version of a script and design.
One of the main aspect of your project should it should look extremely good. Easy to use and it should do what it promises to. I see people starting projects without even thinking of what they were planning to do and what they have made. So always remember the project that you decide to work on and keep that in mind.

Now at this point i expect you to have completed designing your website. After you have designed you will need to get traffic to your site, one of the way is SEO. Read my basic tutorial on that here. Others are email marketing, viral traffic from social networks and you need to understand one thing for sure. If you want a project to be successful you need to invest.
Forums are a very good place to share your projects and you can get you tons of visitors become customers. Furthermore google adwords, facebook ads are also very interesting place to buy advertising from. You can get tons of traffic just by paying a small sum of money.
You can also buy links on sites of similar niche that you have and infact you can buy small projects laid out by people but who are not operating it. That way you are getting additional traffic without doing much work.
You shouldn't purchase traffic from traffic exchange networks for website related project because it can seriously hurt your bounce rate and hence ranking.

Now once you have got traffic to your project, make sure before you launch your project you already have tested your site completely. This is better done if you start beta program where you give few people trial of your service before you start the project.
Social sharing is very important these days, so you can always share your project on big facebook pages, share on twitter and this way you will get traffic to your site. Remember SEO is very important and you need to get it done right because a long time project should not depend on small discount and project.
If you did everything right then there is no way you will fail.
I wrote this tutorial just to tell you how you can make a successful project, so never have a doubt in yourself and move forward :thumbsup:
