I'm sure there's many way of doing this, this is just one I personally found and enjoy doing.
Rate of succession - 50%
I have done this in many stores and received a free meal hundreds of times, however, this only works if they have the self order screens for card payments and it depends on the staff working.
It is not a refund and you do not have to pay a penny!
Firstly, you go to the kiosk and select the food you want, there's no price limit whatsoever, I have ordered food for 4 of my friends at once and received it.
Secondly, you select that you have finished your order and it should show up saying pay with card or cancel.
This is where you cancel it, it should say transaction failed.
Next, it should say as your transaction failed would you like to pay at the counter, select yes.
At this point it should print you out a receipt for your order, with your order number on, however it will probably say 'take this receipt to the counter to pay for your order'
Just bin the receipt, the staff making your food is the key here as normally orders have a small bar at the bottom saying 'paid' however, yours will say 'to be paid', it's very small and unlikely it will be seen however, on the odd occasion they have realised that it hasn't been paid for and they've just left it. If they do suspect you, you can just say you went to pay on Apple Pay and your phone died, your card got declined etc. I'm sure you know excuses on why you couldn't pay.
Finally, they should shout out your order number if they didn't notice it wasn't paid for, this is where you collect your food, if they ask for your receipt just say you threw it away and they'll just tell you not to throw it next time.
Done. Free food.
