How to file a PR but not really #1
Recently successfully DNA'd a $1250 product off Amazon, 5+ year old account with a bunch of genuine orders. I tried experimenting with Chat Support to see the dynamics of how they're trained to react to certain prompts. Basically, I avoided saying my package could have been stolen. I just reached out every day to say that it was "still missing". Finally, one of the associates asked me if I "think the package could have been stolen?". I said possibly, and they said file a PR. B̶a̶s̶i̶c̶a̶l̶l̶y̶,̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶y̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶t̶e̶l̶l̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶f̶i̶l̶e̶ ̶a̶ ̶P̶R̶ ̶u̶n̶l̶e̶s̶s̶ ̶Y̶O̶U̶ ̶s̶t̶a̶t̶e̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶n̶k̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶s̶t̶o̶l̶e̶n̶.̶ ̶ EDIT: Apparently they will ask for PRs for even partial empty boxes.

Here's what happened:
I filed the most sluggishly done, crappy PR. My details of the incident were a sentence long. Didn't even include the tracking ID, speedran the whole process. I finally got a code for my PR, and just put that in the Amazon Incidence Report and sent it in. After that, I hit up the Support Chat again and told them I've done my PR, I want my refund. Got a refund on the spot. The next day, my shitty PR very obviously got rejected. I doubt the PR department keeps copies of rejected PRs. So basically, now I don't have a PR linked to me or this package at all. Neat loophole in case anybody is worried about having PRs attached to them.

This is not true at all, they tend to ask for PR's more and more often even for the most ridiculous circumstances, even when you do partial empty box and not mention theft at all.

Be careful.

The transaction may be reversed due to an Incomplete PR.

Records are kept of every Incident pertaining to claims.

Ah I see, thank you for clarifying.

I thought that the PR was more for just Amazon to shift liability onto the customer, ie. not something they check up on regularly. Since I provided the Temporary PR code, I figured they were satisfied with that & tucked it away. I'll post an update in this thread if my refund gets reversed.

They don't physically check each and every claim that's finalized when there's no reason to do so.

If their systems alert of any type of Inconsistency (as per below) further down the track, that's when they'll look Into It.

Talking about this, anyone know if its easy to make a pr for paypal? I have an open case vs sony for a pair of XM5's that their customer support sucked with (tried missing item and got no proof etc just a photo of it at the front door, doesnt show weight etc just a box in a bag loose at my front door, doesnt show other side so no seal),
opened pp case, so far they just asked for Report filed with the police or government organisation. so

I think when a company asks for a PR and you file it, you shouldnt really for while. Should have legit pruchases inbetween and take some time off it. Dont overdo it with that sort of thing
Hope This Helps

UNCOMFORTABLE TRUTHS...

Spot on.

The more PRs filed, the greater the chance of attracting attention.
