Well, It takes time and interest to become a hacker but it takes whole time with interest and EXPERIENCE to become a elite hacker or uber hacker. I have seen many forums as well as answers, discussions for the same term. I am new in this field and after doing a research on the topic by browsing internet, meeting people, visiting institutions, reading books, I have found that there are three things needed to become a elite hacker in my opinion, which are:
Is there any thing left???, If there than you are welcome to share!
- Networking
Ok, The first thing goes here is to learn networking, Networking means interconnections of several computers, If you know how they are connected and how to connect them than you can proceed to next two steps. A good hacker must know how the computers are connected.
By learning networking you'll able to get good command on networking terminology. such as what is IP, TCP and DHCP?, What is MAC address and how to assign this addresses, how to change them etc. There are several certification courses out there such as CCNA, MCSA, MCSE etc. Most of them include Windows and CISCO platform. Your main aim should be learning different topics very deeply so you can know what are their limits and possibilities.
- Programming
Second thing goes here is to master at least one of the programming language. I like "Python" and also recommend it to you because it has easy output and user friendly error debugging system which is advantage for beginners, you can develop GUI applications if go deeply in that. There are hundreds of users who love to get the work done by clicking, when you finished learn networking than you will realize to have some applications used to manipulate your networking commands. There are large number of applications available on internet to download and use them. What if you need a application which need for your specific task and which is not available on internet????? if you know a programming language than you can write that application for your own.
- Linux or Unix OS
Most of the servers over the internet are Linux based because it has its own advantages over Windows in terms of security. what if are assigned to work on a linux machine??? There are several distros available, one of them is "ubuntu" which you should learn. you should know that how linux works.
Finally, as I said the key is "Experience". try as many problems you can and be creative.
Is there any thing left???, If there than you are welcome to share!
