How to avoid Dell call the owner when doing an invoice se? #1
The method that i got is live chat dell, tell them the laptop is broken, ask for an ar since it is under 30 days purchase, ask it on hold and ps a tagged picture and email it back to dell and the addy too then you got a new laptop. But i tried with this method for three times (costed me about 130 for invoice and ps service) whole they all call the original owner to confirm which cause the fail. I heard that some people said this method is wrong and it can avoid the calling, i tried to convince them to change the phone number and email but that didnt work either. Does anyone know whats the trick? thanks

This comes to no surprise.

It's expected that they'll cross-check the details to confirm ownership.

Solely relying on paperwork to verify Information, Is a thing of the past.

If the Invoice No, Customer No and Dell Order No (or any part thereof) has not been changed, they will key In the details on their systems and the original owner will be Identified.

The only way I can see this working, Is If a Dell representative processes the claim by the Invoice per se.

what do you mean by processes the claim by the invoice per se? and i am thinking as i know there is some phone spoofing service other there that can fake a specific number, what if i spoof the owner's number and then pickup the call whenm dell calls?

This was going to be my suggestion. I am aware of such services though I have not used them for this purpose and thus cannot confirm if it will actually work. It is definitely worth a try in my opinion. Maybe test this with a friend first to see how exactly you can manipulate the system to your advantage.

Only refer to the details on the Invoice, without verifying It against the records on their systems.

It may work, but (for verification purposes), what happens If they ask for the user credentials and/or date of birth on the account that's unbeknownst to you?

Ever since the 2015 tech support scam situation, Dell have Increased their authentication. I'm not suggesting that the above will happen, but It's certainly a possibility.

so i just digged out the method that i used:
Requirements -

More than 1IQ
Dell invoice.
Email account - outlook/gmail etc. (Do not make until you have an invoice.)
Picture of service tag with blank note which can be photoshopped.

When you have an invoice purchased; create an email address under the name on the invoice; Such as Johnsmithwork@Gmail.com; if the invoice is
under a company name, either make up an name; or you can search the address; and attempt to find the CEO or someone who works there. You can also
make a new company email to use.

Begin by either contacting dell via Whatapps, Calling or Email. You'll be transferred to the Tech Support team when calling; then possibly to the
preium support or pro support team.

You're going to want to explain you have a 2-1 error code on your XPS 15; with no screen or keyboard lights; with the charger light turning on; if
you go for a different device, find the dell error codes or beep codes and pick motherboard failure. (On XPS its 2 amber flashes then 1 white flash;this is reapeated)

You can explain you've tried all troublshooting and they'll look at warranty. Now they may try to send out a technician to replace the MB.
Explain to them that you work full time; and you can only do 7pm and onwards; after they explain they cant do this; ask if a replacement is possible.

They may go ask their supervisor or follow up via email if its possible.

Via email or call they'll assk for a picture of the service tag; you're going to want to get this photoshopped with the note of info they request.

If they ask for it on call; ask them if you can follow up via email as you're out currently and can't sort it or something.

It take 48~ hours for the replacement approval.

At some point they should ask for an address to send it to; if they do not, ask them if you should supply them with the address for the replacement to go to.

everything works except after 48 hours i will got an email about the replacement case is close due to the owner request

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Everything seems very well planned, but the Issue Is that the Invoice Is registered and recorded (with Dell) under the rightful account holder. When cross-checked, It will verify ownership.
