How to SE an external hard drive?

Greetings folks, I've been checking the forum for a method on how to SE an external hard drive but I haven't found anything. So here I am, looking for advice.
What would be the best plan of action? Go to Seagate support and tell them it's faulty with providing a receipt if I'm asked? Whilst also finding a S/N for 2 or 4 TB HDD?

Let me know your thoughts on this guys.
