Yo everyone,
I was just curious as to how everyone started with design, everyone started somewhere and everyone was most probably pretty terrible.

I'll start the discussion off;
I was watching speed arts on youtube of people making background for clans who trick shot, and I started making youtube backgrounds for people. They weren't very good, but I started messing around with layer styles and overlays and just learnt what was what that was in December 2011 and now I am designing mock-ups for webpages. Funny how much everyone progresses looking back on your old work.

So how did yours all start?

I started with youtube, doing logos. From there I started making signatures for people on Cybergamer, all of them were fairly simple, nothing too flash.

I still have a sort of basic Graphics skill. Right now I'm working on more of the video side of it.

That's pretty cool man, visual FX would be awesome to do. I have never gotten into it really. Keep at it though.

I started off designing for gaming servers and such around 3-5 years back now. Then I evolved into designing youtube background and the works, now I like to design simple things which just are very eye catching.

I take graphic design as a lesson at college so a lot of my work will be very hard to implement with graphics on forums and such.

I started with traditional methods of art and design. It started when I was 13/14 drawing graffiti in my black book, and then painting and now I'm where I am today. Still prefer drawing to Photoshop though.

I started when I saw a tutorial on YouTube on how to make cool looking texts.

I started in 2007 with photoshop, creating a Myspace layout for a band my friend was making. Took off from there, using flash, fireworks, illustrator, indesign, dreamweaver, 3dmax, maya, cinema, zbrush, and aftereffects.

My heart stays with photoshop.

I started as a graphic designer with a creative agency and that was around the 3 full years mark and over time I have moved on from place to place but one thing has always been the same for me, I LOVE GFX

I am just staring now. I don't know what got me hooked, but something did. Maybe it's the fact that I can create anything I want...
