How Do You Buy? #1
Different techniques, or methods, of advertising appeal to different types or people or just specific groups. I am someone who would never buy a product just because it was endorsed by a celebrity that I liked.

But I know some people who will sometimes have no use for the product, but they will buy it anyways because it is associated with one of their favorite celebrities.

When celebrities endorse and advertise certain products, does it have an impact on whether or not you will buy the product or not?

I never buy products because of what celebrities have to say about said product(s). Like the ProActive television advertisements for example, they're just a load of lies and the celebrities are clearly only doing it for the money and they say what they've been forced/told to say.

I agree with you. I don't know if I have ever seen any Pro-Active advertisements, but I have seen those late night shopping adverts that invade certain television stations after that station goes off air at night.

I have seen celebrities selling make up and all of that, and the celebrities are beautiful women, but nobody has usually seen them in the public eye for a while and they are clearly just in it for the money.

I don't watch that many advertisements, so I can safely say I am not that influenced by celebrity endorsements.
I don't really buy into the cult of celebrities thing, but I am totally against using famous people in advertisements. After all, I seriously doubt they actually use the products they are trying to sell.
Oh, and I especially doubt things recommended by people whose call to fame is 'looking good'.

I try to not pay attention to ads, unless it's for something that actually interests me.

Informercials look cool and interesting, but most of the products are usually not very reliable and are usually endorsed by people who aren't in the height of their careers.

I prefer buying things after knowing well what I'm commiting to buy.

I don't buy deodorants and such, I get's that in gifts. And if I buys, like a new microphone (Like my Blue Yeti), I reads reviews, and not what celebrities says.

There are these new headphones out by Dr. Dre (He's a rapper for anyone who isn't familiar with his name) and I think that these headphones are called 6, or something like that. Either way, I don't get why people would listen to a celebrity just because they say that a product is fantastic. There are clearly better headphones out there than Dr.Dre's, but his will do fantastically because of who he is. It's important to compare reviews for two different product - one that was endorsed byt a celebrity and one that was not.

I only buy things that are useful to me, and many times not even then. Advertisements can be helpful in getting the information out there that a certain product exists; but I couldn't care at all if someone famous happens to be endorsing it. Even if it's a celebrity I really like. It just comes across super fake!
