Having Problem in Mysql 07-06-2015, 02:22 AM

This is my problm when i type mysql
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)
And i not see mysqld.sock file here :- /var/run/mysqld In this directory is se only this file mysql.pid
I can't start mysql :-
[FAIL] Starting MySQL database server: mysqld . . . . . . . . . . . . . . failed!
I tried everything but failed
Please help me

Install mysql-server, not mysql-client. You're getting that error because that file doesn't exist.

have you created a mysql user? are you running a linux machine? Are you root when you try and start the service?

I made a python webserver and give the port 1010 and localhost is 127.0.1.1 but i didn't change configuration file

Try to cd into /var/run/mysqld and type ls. Show us the results of that.

There s only one file :-

Why is this in `Operating SYstems`? Also, you've given us close to no information; we need to know what operating system you're running, what MySQL version would be helpful, etc.
