I was given a handheld radio scanner whislter ws1010 as a birthday gift because my birthday is in a couple days. Well the person that Purchased the scanner was not told to keep the receipt for the pin number so they threw it away so therefore I do not have the pin to activate the scanner and he keeps asking for it and I’ve called the place where it was purchased and they will not help me out and the box that it came in they threw away because they play like a game in the box is there anyway anybody can help me I need a pin so I can kind of a muscu purchased the scanner was not told to keep the receipt for the pin number so they threw it away so therefore I do not have the pin to activate the scanner he keeps asking for it and I’ve called the place where it was purchased and they will not help me out and the box that it came in they threw away because they play like a game in the box is there anyway anybody can help me I need a pin so I can activate my scanner!

Have you checked whether It's a generated PIN, or set by default as per the manufacturer?

Also, does It have a recovery mode after ex-amount of Invalid authentication attempts?

First, Did the box have a yellow box with a black padlock symbol inside of it? Was there a company called DiSa written anywhere on anything you purchased? And was it from Wally World? I have a personal vendetta against those fuckers for acting so cocky with shite security software, so I might be the man to ask about this.
Second, is there any way to hook it up to a PC (Linux or Windows is preferable) and can you dump any files from the machine via this connection?
IF these two things are true and you can upload a copy of the file tree, or if you REALLY have time, type up a copy of the main folders, I can probably help you.
I spent months cracking every version of the DiSa PoSA system until I just discovered you can uninstall the program itself on most devices and just bypass the entire thing.
Anyway, see if you can dump the file tree from the device on to a computer. I'm bored and outside my office so I'll do some research on your device out of the goodness of my heart.

EDIT:
It took me about 30 seconds of looking about and you can plug the scanner into a computer. If you're using Nautilus on a Linux machine you should be able to look into the file system of whatever computer exists inside the thing. I'm not sure about a Windows system.
Look around for a system file and if you're really lucky you might find a file called testdisa, and if you open it as a text file it'll have a bunch of hash strings in it and I can help you in minutes making it work. If not, keep looking for that testdisa file anywhere you can and post the file tree in the mean time.

Also, you don't have to bother talking about losing the receipt. We don't care. You don't have the PIN and that is all that matters. No excuses or BS, just facts. It's not a problem, just not necessary. I'm going to help you as much as I can and I don't care one bit why there is no PIN.
