"Hacked by Anonymous" #1
So I made a minecraft server and hired a couple guys to map out some spawns and shops and such. One user came on and next thing we know we all get booted and banned, when I unban us and we log back in the terrain is destroyed and there's signs everywhere saying "Hacked by Anonymous". Anyone know how to fix this?

Did you make a backup?
Also do you have an IP log?

No. I only had the server up for like a hour or two. And I checked the log, there was one user that stuck out so I banned that IP. Now I can't fix the map, my players lose op as soon as they logout, it's just a mess.

Recreate the server but make sure you have everything set to whitelist so everyone that is able to join must be whitelisted. Set up your shit, install what is needed and then fix permissions.

The 'hacker' was probably a friend or maybe a friend of a friend is my guess since it was just up about 2 hours what you said.

What bluedog said... its gotta be one of the people you have told the server details too... i dont know much (anything) about minecraft but im guessing it would have been someone you actually gave the permissions to.

It just blows. I trusted them guys to do some building and get everything messed up. I figured it all out and backed everything up. I just hope the next person I find who is willing to help is trustworthy.

Learn from your mistake. Next time it might be IRL and have bad endings.
