I am building a website and in testing it i find that the when i access it through a ipad the touch feature will not activate the links. Do i need to change the code to get it to work with the touch screen??

What are you talking about? I have made a lot of websites now and I have never experienced that the touch feature in my iPad or iPhone don't work on my websites? Can you send me a live preview of the site, or a sample of your code?

First thing you should try to isolate the error.
- Are you sure the issue is in the website back-end and not maybe in the device?
- Are you sure it works on computers?

As Anima said, the code would probably be a big hint in helping you find the solution.

It was in the html. when i built it i did not take into account the touch screen and change add the code needed. My bad. :wacko: My coffee was gone by then. i do networking and some web pages but getting into this mobile pages and apps is all new to me. Guess i should brush up on some of my older programming skills. Thanks for the help

HTML is pretty standard. Your finger is essentially the mouse on a touch screen. I dont really see how you could possibly have HTML code that you could click on a normal computer with a mouse but couldnt click on a touch screen. I mean hell Touch Screen devices are designed to work with existing technology. I can browse billions of existing websites on my touch screen and they have no special touch screen code??

I think you just fucked up your html pure and simple. has nothing to do with the device.

Glad you fixed it, but HTML is not a programming language.

he said he was getting into mobile pages and apps and thats new to him. now if you werent aware, mobile (web) apps are not strictly coded in html. they include other languages. So brushing up on some previous programming experience would be not be unreasonable.

At no point did he state html was a programming language.

You don't need to introduce any kind of code for touch, The touch is integrated.

I created a webpage that works fine on my laptop. But i sent that same page to a ipad and touch will not work i added a webkit for the touch and now it works. Or am i missing something???

If it's a simple link, you shouldn't need any additional code. Webkit is supported by browsers like Chrome or Safari (if I'm not wrong) and you need it for (e.g.) animations, but not for the a element.
