Not to single everybody out saying w3schools its good.. but... I PERSONALLY wouldn't use W3 schools as a primary source of learning..

Freecodecamp, Youtube, and like some Udemy courses, other blogs imo are superior to W3schools they just have great SEOing so like they usually appear whenever you search coding questions.

w3schools will teach you the basics, it's not meant to be the only thing the person should be looking at whilst trying to learn. It will give the user a simple and basic description of how x works. These sites are most likely more detailed but that's the beauty of w3schools; it explains how HTML/CSS works to you in a simply way in which you don't fall confused.

When I first started learning a given language, W3Schools was my first port of call to develop and formulate the basics- at the minimum. I then advanced via random online sources, and through trial and error.

I wouldn't say too many very particular reasons besides I just think there is better info out there, like a lot of their stuff there is better way to do things, and better put together things that will be easier to comprehend.
But I do AGREE that it's a great site for basics, and I am not saying I have never used and never will use it. I just seen a lot of people referring w3schools and not much of anything else, and I just don't like w3schools think there is better stuff that should be recommended over it.

I mean I agree with you to a point, some of w3schools info isn't up-to date, but I will say that I think most of the problems I have ran into with w3schools has all been with javascript.
I used w3schools a little for css, but there is way better stuff out there for learning css, HTML is HTML so I am sure it's a great place to learn HTML, and CSS but like I had said if you are interested in css...

Not saying every google search just throw w3schools out the window, if it gives you what you need than thats that. I just seen most people recommended w3schols whenever I personally do not like it.

W3Schools Is not the best starting point, nor Is It the worst. Suffice to say, from an absolute beginner's standpoint pertaining to a given language, I believe their Introductions are well-formatted and elaborated.
