Getting people motivated in a group? 05-30-2017, 12:01 AM

How do you guys get people motivated in a group? I am finding it difficult to get people to want to do something together and work on projects or forming a study group.
People who have done this, how have you done this successfully?

Find out the groups interests and skillsets and build from there, sadly some people just don't or wont participate and you might have to just trim the fat, aka kick them from the group.

Often you need to have an aligned goal/outcome/interest. Motivation to do something is never a guarantee or a constant, so having something that basis of direction helps. Another thing is the ringleader figure - reminders/organising etc can be good prompts for other members of the group as not everyone will take the initiative to do it themselves.
If you have already done these things, then I must use a cliche phrase "You can only lead a horse to water. You cannot force it to drink it."
