So, every facebook account has a facebook email address, which, when you send a message goes to there facebook inbox. It will be username@Facebook.com so what you want to do is, send a message (from an email account) to your target friend, ie; target@Facebook.com and either in there inbox, or inbox other they will receive the message, but the TRICK is, when they reply, it will go to YOUR email inbox, then just read the email headers and you have your IP address, boom!

Well I have done it several times, and also know a few people that have - so maybe experiment.
