I meant like a proxy server so I can proxy a vps not a VPN unless that can be used the same way.

VPN's can be used in a similar way. The software you would want is something like OpenVPN.

As for a proxy software... there are a bunch of them that run on top of Webservers using PHP or Perl... or theres some standalone ones like Privoxy. WinGate is a Windows specific version as well if i recall.

I would go the VPN route though, as the traffic between the two hosts would be more secure. But both options essentially allow you to route your connection through another host.

If you know how to change the proxy manually on your pc, there are proxy services (not a VPN) that you can use to hide your IP completely. I don't recommend sticking with just that, but if that's all you can do, its better than nothing. Also with this method, you can use a Free VPN (any of them) as the logs will not be yours anyway, considering its just being sent to another proxy .
