Folklore #1
I've been watching Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou which has hints of japanese folklore in it. I find these little insights really unusual but fascinating.

MyAnimeList Synopsis:

As with its prequel, Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou is about Natsume Takashi, a boy who has had the ability to see youkai since he was young, and his bodyguard youkai, Madara, nicknamed Nyanko-sensei. Natsume attempts to return names written in his "Book of Friends", which he inherited from his grandmother Reiko, to youkai in his village. Throughout these adventures, he meets some youkai that are friendly, some that want to steal the Book of Friends, and some that want to kill him. Natsume learns about himself and his relationship with youkai along the way.

Does anyone else have a liking for folklore? If so, I'd love to hear what shows you've watched with folklore in. I would like to find more after I've finished this show.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Now watching a show called Mushi-shi which seems to be on similar themes but perhaps more emotional.

I saw a clip from something like this on YouTube one night but couldn't find it again...maybe it was this series.

Do the episodes follow the same storyline or are they independent?

Bit of both really. Mostly I would say they were independent but not to the same level as shows like Mushi-shi.
