I work in the Portland, OR area. I can't give out what specific part I deliver in for obvious reasons. But I've worked all around the area, so alot of the stores, hubs, know me.
Thanks for offering help to the community.
Questions for you:
- to what lengths is it required for a FedEx driver to go when a package is being investigated?
- how many investigations on an address will it take for an address to be banned?
- when a package is "damaged in transit", will the address be investigated typically? Will the driver be in trouble?
thanks again!
Sorry this took so long for a response.
I've known of several packages to go "missing" but marked as delivered, and the investigation ended with "hey did you deliver this item to this address" and a response of "yes" concluded the investigation.
Fedex ground operates entirely on a contracted service providers, meaning it's not fedex that is employing the drivers, (express is fedex operated), so different contractors go to different lengths to ensure timely delivery and accuracy.
I've worked for a few that will always just approve the claim and not ask drivers questions, or deny them flat out even if the package is proven delivered to the right address by photo or GPS log.
If item is damaged in transit, FedEx will tape it up or investigate the damage, and redeliver or attempt to. It hurts contractors stats if packages arent delivered.
I haven't seen an address get banned, but then again I don't see any of that information, that would be operations managers I think.
