Please do read before you go all insane on me.
Now before you go all crazy on my ass, let me explain myself. I by no means is saying that Fallout 4 was and is a terrible game, I am saying that by the Fallout standard it isn't as amazing as the hype made it out to be. I am saying that while the game is fun for a few hours, it actually has scary little content to sum around with. Which is rare considering the fact that this game was created by Bethesda. After completing the main story of the game in a few hours, I was left with an empty feeling, no closure, nothing left to do and a world that felt dead and lost.
Aside from the main story, there aren't many interesting quests and chance are you've done the most interesting side-quests either while you were doing the main or in a few short hours after doing the main one. The four different endings of the main story have very little difference to them, they all feel the same and mostly leave you with the same result. Because this game has no credits, no ending that define your character, the story feels a bit lost. You get no closure, and this was mostly likely done because people complained on the original ending of Fallout 3. (I for one preferred to have an defined ending.)
Exploring the world can be fun, if you hadn't already explored more or less every interesting location during the main story mode. Building settlements is fun, hadn't it been for the lacking part of it. There is few parts, little to build and even a limit to how much you can build. The weapon creation system fall short because of a single reason. There is a single best set for each weapon type. Bethesda, no Todd Howard stated that you could stick with a rifle through the entire game if you found one you really liked. That isn't the case, as you will constantly change it out with something else.
Fallout 4 has a load of great ideas that mostly fall short. The game isn't a masterpiece by any means, but it isn't terrible either. What is your opinion?
