FTIDv3 question 07-02-2023, 07:26 AM
#1
I hear people say that you need to put your FTID label on a package with matching weight (preferably using dry ice), in order for it to succeed.
Why? Doesn't the package get thrown out anyways?

in case the company decides to cross check the original weight of the parcel they had sent with the weight of the parcel that you've sent (they will contact the carrier or demand proof of postage). Making it weighted means that there aren't any discrepancies in the weight. Resulting in (hopefully) higher success rates.

Thanks for the reply. I also wanted to ask, why do people need to reroute to another business for FTID? Why can't it just be some house?

Businesses are open and more likely to accept unknown registered mails.

thanks. Would it be practical to combine LIT and FTIDv3 in case the carrier delivers the package to the original barcode address? Perhaps I could FTIDv3 using a package of dry ice, so that they assume the package was stolen, if FTIDv3 fails.

You could totally combine FTID3, LIT and box method.

I wouldn't know the exact reason but I'll assume that dry ice is easy to get and easy to send. If the wheight fits at the registration, it should be fine.
Not gonna lie, that could be a good way of doing it.

It doesn't melt it sublimates straight into a gas instead, vanished into thin air!
