A bit old, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Apparently, alot of the emergency phones on elevators can be dialed from outside lines.
If I were to attempt to find out these numbers, and idea how it might be done? Sureely there must be a way, like a directory on a pbx system or something like that.

That's the number for the Riviera hotel and casino in Las Vegas. During Defcon, someone figured out that you could access the phones in the elevators. They work in a kind of speaker phone setup, where you dial in and can talk and listen. You are also able to tell if the car is moving or not and the number of people in the car (little beeps let you know).


There are.....seven? six elevators? Well I forget the exact number, but a safe area to stay inside is in between 37 and 41. So when you call that number and it picks up, dial #9037 if you wanted to access car number 37. i.e. #9041 for car 41. It will transfer you around a little while, so have patience. You will also hear a really crazy beeping noise, like a retarded person dialing as many numbers as possible, then you are connected.

As I remember, this phones aren't really loud, but loud enough for you to hear. Yelling would be a good idea.

It does indeed work, as proven on many conventions and at other occasions.

Not sure about the numbers, thuogh, you'd probably need to get someone to tell you or dismount the elevator.

Ok. Ok. Your right. However, Ive read several places something like this can be done. Its the nature of the system. When you pick one up, they automatically dial a predetermined number, say, 911. That being said, they have to have a number in order to make that call and communicate. It would stand to reason that they could be called back in some way from an outside line. Ive been able to dial payphones before.

That being said, they have to have a number in order to make that call and communicate. It would stand to reason that they could be called back in some way from an outside line. Ive been able to dial payphones before.

Maybe it redirects through the main phone line but that would contradict it being a closed system. I know in some buildings it calls inside the building and they call the emergency services.

Why would it redirect to 911? Did someone forget to order pizza?
