Well, that puts an end to everything I've suggested pertaining to signs of tampering.

I mean no obvious signs doesn’t explicitly rule out any tampering does it? It just wasn’t obvious. Maybe with a magnifying glass I might find some signs of tampering.

^ What you're suggesting, Is no where near consistent with tearing the package/box and removing the watch.

In order to open the package, rip open the box and take the watch thereafter, It will not require a magnifying glass to Identify signs of tampering. It'll easily be noticed by the human eye.

That's why the DOR stated "obvious signs" - It's accordant with what's typically expected when packages are opened and goods stolen during transit. Don't fall Into the same trap again, make a mental note of It for future reference.

Understood. I have read many times to say when asked about any signs of damage to the package to say no. I guess it wasn’t correct. Nevertheless it doesn’t rule out MEB and this is what I will pursue with them.

They have responded to my PayPal dispute and I was asked to provide further information as to why it is SNAD and I have done so, awaiting further update from PayPal.

My take from this SE is to next time make sure I have a few legitimate orders first. Also to say I could not recall if there was any damage to package or something of likeness.

Hopefully PayPal dispute goes in my favour, very old PayPal account and zero previous refunds.

Also in the DOR form they ask you to confirm that no members of family have taken item out of package, so in the event of failed SE, returning it and saying something like that for your reason of suddenly finding it, is not an option.

Please reply the moment you've received a response.

Absolutely.

It will give the account some credibility.

Spot-on.

They're referring to family members, so you can say that a friend was visiting on the day of delivery who took the watch and told you about It after the DOR was completed.

I am hesitant to initiate a legitimate return with Currys. I have read numerous stories of even legitimate returns getting lost or being notoriously hard to get refund

Hoping PayPal comes through though.
Take It one step at a time.

See how PayPal responds and If need be, we'll tackle the next step.

Paypal responded:

“ The case was closed in the seller's favour because the item wasn’t damaged, different or missing any parts as described by you.”

Makes zero sense as the basis of the claim is that it was missing parts. On the phone to PayPal now.

Spoke to someone: appeal sent of to higher team. I will update when I have a response.

Agreed, It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

If they remain adamant during the appeal, ask them to provide evidence In support of their following statement:

Hey I’ve also recently done a DNA on curry’s for a £700 Laptop. Chatted to suport and now I’ve revived a DOR form. It says they will take 7 days to investigate on the email. Should I sign it?

This was the form I received and I also received and email saying

“Dear Customer,

We understand that you have reported the non-receipt of your order from currys.

To facilitate an investigation into your missing parcel, please complete the attached Denial of Receipt form and return it to us via one of the following methods:

Post: FAO: currys, Gem Services, 2 Nunnery Square, Sheffield, S2 5DD

Email: carrierteam@currys.co.uk

If you are missing part of your order, please also provide us with photos of what has been received. Include all packaging, labels and the product box. Thank you in advance.

If we do not receive a response from you within 7 working days, we will assume that you have received all of your order and as such we will take no further action.

Please allow up to 7 working days for a conclusion once the completed Denial of Receipt form has been returned. If you require any assistance, you can contact our Customer Services department on 0344 561 1234.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation in this matter. We take great pride in the service that we provide to our customers and wish to come to a satisfactory conclusion for all parties.

Kind regards,

Currys”
