So if any of you remember the Pandora, you might be excited to hear that its successor, the DragonBox Pyra, is almost getting ready for production.

In case you don't know, the Pandora and the Pyra are small handheld Linux (or any other OS with ARM support) computers, with a fullblown desktop environment and physical keyboard, as well as some neat features such as dual SD card slots, USB 3.0 port, 720p 5" display and some other jazz.

I'm on the go a lot, so having a small 11.5" laptop is very convenient, but I want something even smaller that I easily can pull out at any time. I would use my phone, but typing on a soft keyboard just isn't efficient as a physical one. I've been following the Pyra project for some time now, and personally I can't wait until it's ready for production.

It'll be a great little device for portable retro gaming, code edits and wifi hacking, I think, though it's also quite expensive (guesstimated 499 EUR). I'll be getting one anyway!

That's actually really fucking cool. I especially like the idea of it NOT being a phone with a bunch of preloaded shit. I wonder what the average specs will be for something that small, though.
