The topic of 60fps in games has been hot these days after the new generation of consoles were released. This is especially true when the news that PS4 runs games at 1080p 60fps while the Xbox One can only do 30fps ... for now at least. What are your thoughts on this, is it really that important that games run at 60fps?

As a PC gamer, it's annoying to play a console game without 60 fps.

Well on PC it's best if you have 60FPS for games like COD and whatnot. If we're talking about console anything over 30FPS isn't needed at all.

The problem is that I can't tell the difference when I'm playing a game since I mostly focus on what's going on rather the smoothness of gameplay. I do however can see clearly the difference between 30fps and 60fps when I'm watching a video, in which case 60fps is much more desirable for me.

From what I've seen, the xbox one runs on 60fps. I don't know where you saw 30 from. Every game I own for it (all the good ones) Are in 60.

OT: Yes, I believe 60fps is a necessity in the current generation of gaming. It's hard to play without it nowadays.

60 fps vs. 30 fps is like being there vs. watching a movie.
But 60 fps is a necessity for a lot of games.

The only PC game i reguarly play is Minecraft and i average about 300 fps on that.
I feel i couldn't play without atleast 60
