I wondered if any of you, after finishing the last aired episodes of a show, go on to pick up the story where the show left off by reading the manga. Or do you start the manga from the beginning and go over the whole story again in case the manga is slightly different or has extra things in that the show didn't?

always from the start. Need to get used to art styles and back story sometimes changes and what not. For example the 1st chapter of One Peace explains how luffy got his scar and you don't learn that till quite a bit into the show if I recall correctly.

Do the plots usually change that much or is it normally only some things?

In every show that I have watched with the manga there have been really minor plot differences. Or minor tone differences. If you really liked the show you should read the manga as it can give you a new perspective on the show.

When I finished the Bleach anime, I just continued from the same arc on the manga as the anime adaptation was done well. It depends on how well the anime adaptation is done and if anything major was skipped if I bother to read the manga from the start.

That makes sense. I found this to be true with regular films that were adaptations of novels. I guess it could depend on the length of the storyline as to how they tackle it.

I usually end up looking up "where does episode X end in manga X?". I'll then (hopefully) find the manga chapter. If that doesn't work, I'll just fin it on my own.

Only a couple from Black Lagoon, Dogs: Bullets & Carnage, and a few random others.
